Andre’ Gauche’ is a developer, NHBRC registered builder and tourism operator living at his family lodge on Myoli Beach, Sedgefield in the Garden Route of South Africa over weekends and at his home in Kraaibosch Country Estate, George during the week. Over the past 22 years he has, with the assistance of a loyal group of artisans, developed 20 separate properties listed below while at the same time operating his tourist establishments and developing tourism in the Southern Cape. He is assisted by his son Luke Gauche’ who holds a BSc degree in Construction Management and is employed full-time by an estate housing development company in George.

The Bushmaster Bungalow – The Concept:
(National Building Regulation Section A19 : in accordance with SANS 10082)
The bungalow is a cost effective concept ideally suited for construction on the beach, in the bush, in areas that are difficult to access, on river banks or seasonal floodplains, on slopes or unstable ground. The design is aesthetically pleasing and ideal for locations with a view. It is easy to transport and construct and is also environmentally friendly. It can be removed if necessary.
It is ideally designed as a 2 sleeper tourist accommodation unit with en-suite bathroom (shower, toilet and basin), open plan bedroom, lounge and kitchenette with 2 seater dining table, zinc, fridge and stove; under cover outside veranda. The total size of the bungalow is 33m2 (6.6m x 5m). Approximately 4 of these units fit into a standard 6m shipping container.
With a team of 2 carpenters and 4 assistants the Bungalow can be completed in approximately 20 days.
